My studio is located in historic Charleston, SC. I enjoy having sittings either in my studio or on location. I only paint with oils and from life. I work from more than one sitting, two back to back sessions initially, followed by a final at the near completion of the portrait. After the two initial sittings, I take my portrait studies back to my studio and work on the composition of the final portrait. After doing this and carrying the portrait to its final stage, I have a final sitting to polish the likeness and then present the portrait to my client. The portrait process usually takes two months.
On pets: I can have the sitting on location or in my studio.
It's best to have the sitting outside for the best light.
